Todays lesson will teach you how to say “Good-bye” or “See you” in Korean. In polite or formal Korean, there are two simple ways to say good-bye.

One way is when you are the one who is leaving, and the other is when you are the one who is staying.

If you are leaving, and the other person is (or the other people are) staying, you can say:
안녕히 계세요. [an-nyeong-hi gye-se-yo] – This basically means stay well, or stay in peace.

If you are the one who is staying, an the other person is (or the other people are) leaving, you can say:
안녕히 가세요. [an-nyeong-hi ga-se-yo – This basically means go well, or go in peace.
